Waiting for the steel
Construction is all a bit boring at the moment as the steel work is taking longer than anticipated. The builder has got a bit bored and I think may have started putting in the footings for our bedroom and the second bedroom. They sit on the ground, up the bank and to the right of the garage, so he can at least do that while waiting for the floor slab for the living area. They've also backfilled the area around the blockwork, so that big gap between the blockwork and the bank doesn't exist anymore.
So to fill in time, here's a different view of the house. This is from the back of the carport area (you can just see it at the front, with the house sitting on those famous skinny little poles). So you're looking at the outdoor terrace, with the living area in behind that and bedroom 3 also looking onto it. The chimney-looking thing is indeed a chimney for the outdoor fire. The spa/jacuzzi campaign continues! (Nothing wrong with a 20 year plan.)

Ground floor slab
The ground floor slab is now down, so the proper footprint of where things will be happening can be seen. They have also tanked (waterproofed) the concrete blocks and that has been signed off by the DCC. The diggers have been back too, connecting the foul sewer to the house area. That might have been signed off too.
They've also obviously filled the blocks and put in the steel. Apparently the structural steel for the first floor slab might go in this week.
